BOYLSTON – Bishop McManus celebrated Mass for the annual St. Therese Tridiuum at St. Mary of the Hills Parish, 630 Cross St., Sept. 30. He said he believed St. Therese’s sanctity came from her home, noting that her parents were canonized and she and her sisters all entered religious life. “The home is where the foundations of sanctity are laid,” he said; when the family falls into difficulty, that affects the Church. He urged listeners to pray for their families and the families of the diocese. At the Mass Sept. 30 everyone had the opportunity to venerate relics of St. Therese and buy votive candles and roses to place in front of her picture. The last night of the Triduum, Oct. 1, St. Therese’s feast day, includes a 7 p.m. Mass with Father Nelson Rivera, pastor of St. Joan of Arc Parish, preaching, followed by a procession to St. Therese’s outdoor shrine.
