Consisting of 1,694 pipes, Blessed Sacrament Parish's Skinner Organ was dismantled piece by piece and transported to New Haven, Conn., to be reconstructed and restored. A concert is planned for Oct. 6.
Something to Remember WORCESTER – Grief at a loss of family and heritage – and a desire to hold on to a piece of it all – were sentiments expressed as Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church crashed down under the jaws of large equipment last week. This week there was still a pile of rubble where the church once stood. “It’s amazing – the arch is still beautiful,” Doreen Quatela marveled as she watched the demolition Sept. 13.
WEST BOYLSTON – Patricia Quintiliani has known for many years of Saint Therese of Lisieux’s reputation for fulfilling her promise to “send down a shower of roses from heaven” by “doing good upon earth.” But she didn’t know how quickly those “roses” would fall when she asked the saint to intercede for her in May of this year.

WORCESTER – The last main walls of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church crashed down under the jaws of large equipment in the midafternoon on Sept. 13 as former parishioners and other people watched.
There are many African Catholics in the Worcester Diocese who attend non-Catholic churches instead of going to Mass, “so we have to find a way to bring them back home to the Catholic Church,” Father Eric K. Asante, administrator of Sacred Heart-St. Catherine of Sweden Parish, said.

WORCESTER – Demolition of the main part of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church started Sept. 11, after workers had spent days carefully taking down the steeple. By the next morning, a rainy one, there were large holes in the walls and pieces of the building hanging or piled inside the church and on the ground around it.
