“Embrace the Cross” is the theme of the upcoming Worcester Catholic Women’s Conference. With the line-up of national speakers and a variety of exhibitors, the organizers of the conference said they expect it to be sold out. The conference will take place Oct. 1 at St. Joseph School, 47 Whitcomb St., Webster.
The highlights of the event include four national Catholic speakers, time for confession, celebration of the Eucharist, and opportunities to join in fellowship and make new friends. There will be several priests available to hear confessions, and Bishop McManus will conclude the event with the celebration of Mass in St. Joseph Basilica at 5 p.m.
The conference begins with registration at 7:30 a.m., followed by a music program, recitation of the rosary, and adoration. Confessions will be available during the lunch break held at noon. Lunch is included in the ticket price.
Featured speakers begin at 9 a.m. and continue throughout the day.
Speakers include:
• Bryan Mercier, founder of Catholic Truth and author of Counterfeit Spirituality: Exposing the False Gods and Why Do You Believe in God? Catholic Conversations with Skeptics and Non-Believers. The title of his talk is, “Why Jesus had to die.”
• Laura Phelps, a speaker and
author, who calls herself a “Warrior” for Jesus Christ and posts creative content on Patreon.com, a membership platform, will present her talk, “Standing at the Foot of the Cross.”
• Sonja Corbitt, author of a best-selling book, Unleashed, and creator of podcast/radio show Bible Study Evangelista, will speak to the women about rest, in her talk, “Just Rest: Thoughts, Emotions, Body, and Soul.”
• Constance Hull, a wife, mother, and homeschooler, who is also a freelance
writer, will be wrapping up the speakers program with her talk, “The Cross: Our Surrender to God’s Will.”
