WORCESTER – Father José A. Rodríguez, pastor of St. Joan of Arc Parish, opens the door to the new parish center – The ARC – during the blessing ceremony Monday. Bishop McManus blessed the building and cut the ribbon with Father Rodríguez, and capital campaign chairpersons: Deacon Kevin and Michelle Deignan, Nicholas Obeng and John Rodriguez. The celebration continueD inside. It included singing, refreshments and slides. Father Rodríguez said the building is to be used “to impact our neighborhood and entire city.” Bishop McManus said the vitality of a parish comes from the pastor, that Father Rodríguez loves his people and that St. Joan of Arc reflects the life of the church, with new immigrants and long-time members. He marveled at the hard, quick work that went into putting up the building for which ground was broken in June and said this was a wonderful way to begin a new year.
