Spring returns with the ducks

WORCESTER – Students from Nelson Place School await the arrival of the ducks at Assumption College’s annual Duck Day Tuesday. A red carpet was rolled out for the domestic ducks, who seemed delighted to be returned to the college’s pond from their winter home. The college’s Student Government Association organized the celebration, which included their original “Duck Song,” a prayer expressing appreciation for God’s creatures, and caps, whistles, leis and cupcakes for local school children and other visitors. Proceeds from T-shirt sales raised $700 for the Assumptionists’ Prince of Peace School in Beni, in Democratic Republic of the Congo.
