The 52nd March for Life is scheduled to take place on Jan. 24, 2025 in Washington, D.C. This annual event draws tens of thousands of men, women and youth from across the country to witness to the inherent dignity and worth of every single human life, especially the unborn and their mothers. This year’s theme is “Life: Why We March” and invites all Americans of goodwill to recognize and unite around the truth that every life is beautiful and worthy of protection. Even though Roe v. Wade was overturned in 2022, there is still much work to be done in a post-Dobbs world. The goal of the national March for Life is not only to change laws at the state and federal level, but to change the culture to ultimately make abortion unthinkable.
Registration is open for the annual bus trip sponsored by the Respect Life Office of the Diocese of Worcester. Buses will leave from St. Paul Cathedral on Jan. 23 following the Respect Life Mass at 7:30 p.m., and will travel to the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C., in time for the Friday morning Mass which closes the National Prayer Vigil for Life. Participants will then attend the March for Life at the national mall at noon. Buses will return to Worcester immediately following the March, arriving back at St. Paul’s at approximately 1:00 a.m. on Jan. 25.
The cost is $150 per seat and the registration deadline is December 13. Registrations will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis until buses are full. Registration forms and additional details on the trip itinerary can be found at worcesterdiocese.org/respect-life, or contact the Respect Life Office at aledoux@worcesterdiocese.org or 508-929-4311. Donations that will help defray expenses for students who want to attend but might otherwise find it difficult to do so would be gratefully accepted.
