The annual Partners in Charity Appeal has received gifts and pledges totaling $4,682,919 so far, according to Michael P. Gillespie, diocesan director of Stewardship and Development. That is about 94 percent of the fund drive’s goal of $5 million. It is $317,081 short of the goal, but about $85,000 more than the Appeal received last year at the same time, he said. Fifty of the 102 parishes in the diocese have reached or exceeded their goals. So far, there have been 17,496 donors. Of these, 1,052 are new donors whose gifts or pledges total $129,395. Diocesan priests continue their support of the Appeal, Mr. Gillespie said. So far, 144 priests have given a total of $212,180. The 107 members of the St. Paul Society, who pledge at least $5,000, have given a total of $797,143.
