Bishop McManus visited Our Lady of the Valley Regional Elementary School in Uxbridge and celebrated Mass in the church on Monday. The school is celebrating its 60th anniversary. Established as St. Mary Elementary School in the fall of 1964, Our Lady of the Valley became a regional school as nearby parish schools were merged to create a singular school governed by a consultative board. Recently, OLV was visited by an accreditation team from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges which will vote on the school’s continued accreditation in February. During a visit in October, the team said, “It is evident that the school community is centered in faith, academic excellence, and service to others. All members of the school community are expected to live their faith and to proclaim Gospel values in words and deeds.”
