Massachusetts Citizens for Life is asking people to oppose doctor-prescribed suicide in Massachusetts by testifying at or after a public hearing scheduled for this Friday.
On Oct. 20, the Joint Committee on Public Health is set to hold a hearing “that could shape the destiny of countless vulnerable lives. We must unite to oppose a single, deeply concerning piece of legislation: Bill H.2246/S.1331, disgracefully titled ‘An Act relative to end of life options,’" MCFL said in an email to its supporters.
The legislation, if approved, would legalize doctor-prescribed suicide in Massachusetts.
The hearing is set for 9 a.m. Friday, in Gardner Auditorium at the State House. People wishing to testify may do so in person, virtually or in writing. Written testimony can be sent any time to JointCommittee.PublicHealth@malegislature.gov.
Contact MCFL for information about testifying at 617-242-4199, or email action@masscitizensforlife.org.
