The pre-confession talk “Readiness for Reconciliation” will be given by Msgr. James P. Moroney, the pastor of St. Cecilia Parish in Leominster, at the Worcester Diocesan Catholic Men’s Conference, March 25, at Assumption University. Msgr. Moroney is a priest of the Diocese of Worcester and director of the Office for Divine Worship. A frequent lecturer on liturgy and spirituality, he has previously served as executive director of the USCCB Committee on the Liturgy, and as rector of both St. John Seminary in Boston and St. Paul Cathedral in Worcester. He has spoken on liturgy in every American diocese except two and is the author of “The Mass Explained,” recently published in its third edition by Catholic Book Publishing Company. Other speakers at the event being held in the Plourde Center, include Tulsa residents and radio co-hosts, Adam Minihan and David Niles, (“Friendship, Family and Future Saints”); surfing champ, ‘Bear’ Woznick (“12 Rules of Manliness”); Father Chris Alar, MIC, a member of the Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception (“Being a Eucharistic Man”); and Jeff Joaquin, a philanthropic contractor and developer of JMJ Site Development, Inc. (“The Journey Away from God and the Journey back”). Diocesan and religious priests will hear confessions at mid-day. Bishop McManus will be the principal celebrant and homilist for the Conference Mass at 4 p.m. Tickets, which include lunch, are $30 for students; $65 for adults.
