WEBSTER - Harriet (Krystyniak) Bomba, 100, died Thursday, Oct. 6, in the Jewish Healthcare Center of Worcester after an illness. Her husband, Mitchell Bomba, died in 1995.
She is survived by her children, Rev. Paul M. Bomba, pastor of St. Joseph Church in Auburn, David J. Bomba of Grafton, John P. Bomba and his wife Victoria of Boylston, Joseph M. Bomba and his wife Debra of Windham, Maine, and Emily M. Bomba of Webster; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Rita L. Ekey in 1995, by her brother Joseph Krystyniak and by her sisters Sophie Tokarz, Mary Krystyniak, Helen Serwa, Stasia Beresik and Celia Klatecki.
She was born on Dec. 19, 1921 in Webster, a daughter of Stanislaus and Katherine (Zajac) Krystyniak and lived here all her life. She attended Bartlett High School.
Mrs. Bomba worked as a spinner at Stevens Linen Company in Dudley, as a winder at Maanexit Spinning Company, as a waitress at Dixie’s Coffee Shop and as a nurse’s aide at Oakwood Rehabilitation Center in Webster.
She was a life member of St. Joseph Basilica. The family would like to thank the staff at Jewish Health Care Center for their care and compassion for Mrs. Bomba for the last 5 years.
The funeral was held on Monday, Oct. 10, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb St. with her son as the principal celebrant. Burial will be in St. Joseph Garden of Peace. Donations in her name may be made to Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street, Webster, MA 01570.
