This Year of Faith the Vatican organized an unprecedented global hour of prayer Sunday, the feast of the Body and Blood of Christ. Efforts were made to get dioceses in all inhabited time zones to do eucharistic adoration coinciding with 5-6 p.m. Rome time (11 a.m. here) June 2, when Pope Francis was presiding over adoration and benediction in St. Peter’s Basilica, praying for the Church and its mission of mercy and for those who suffer. For a Worcester Diocesan observance, Bishop McManus celebrated the noon Spanish Mass at St. Paul Cathedral and the traditional Corpus Christi procession down Main Street to St. Peter Parish. Corpus Christi processions were also held in Webster and Still River.
