TV Ministry of the Diocese of Worcester is working with Spectrum/Charter to expand Daily and Sunday Masses on Channel 193 from St. Paul Cathedral in Worcester. These additional Masses will help the thousands of Catholic who cannot attend Mass due to the temporary suspension of all public liturgies as a precaution against the coronavirus. The announcement to suspend Masses was made this morning by Bishop McManus.
The Sunday Mass will now be broadcast LIVE at 10 a.m. in English, with Bishop McManus as the celebrant, followed by a Mass in Spanish at 10:45 a.m. said by different priests from the Diocese who serve the Hispanic and Latino Catholic population in the area. Those Masses will repeat on Sunday evenings at 6 p.m. and 6:45 p.m.
The diocese is also working with Spectrum/Charter to add a Spanish language Mass at 9:30 a.m. each weekday following the Daily Mass in English at 9 a.m. on Channel 193 and hopes to begin that service by Monday, March 23.
Additionally, all Masses are streamed on the internet at worcesterdiocese.org to make them accessible to areas served by other cable providers. Viewers currently tune in from all around the world.
The TV Ministry of the Diocese of Worcester has been broadcasting Daily and Sunday Masses for more than three decades.
