CYO tournament in Leominster

LEOMINSTER – Gary Less, coach of the St. Anthony’s School 7th and 8th grade boys basketball team from Fitchburg, addresses his players before their 48-43 win Saturday, March 9, over St. Anne’s School of Webster. The teams were playing in the CYO 2013 New England Qualifying tournament held during the second and third weekends of March at St. Leo’s School in Leominster.

There are 56 games scheduled among 30 teams here at St. Leo’s. Champions will be crowned Sunday, March 17, in four divisions – boys and girls, grades 5-6 and 7-8 .
The winners of the Worcester county qualifying competition head to Boston the weekend of March 29-31 to compete in the New England regional tournament held at the Reggie Lewis Center.

In 2015, the Worcester Diocese will host the final weekend of the New England tournament.New England tournament.
