SHREWSBURY, MA –St. John’s High School announced February 5 the hiring of Lauren Hill as the next principal.
According to a press release from the school, after a nationwide search, Ms. Hill was selected because of her experience in Xaverian education, commitment to the school’s mission and personal ties to the community.
Ms. Hill currently serves as the assistant principal for academics at Xaverian Brothers High School in Westwood.
Ms. Hill will begin her new role as principal July 1.
Ms. Hill taught English at St. John’s from 2014 to 2020. She also ran the St. John’s Summer Programs. She chaired the Professional Development Committee, worked with the Yearbook Club and moderated the Speech and Debate Team. She was also involved in Campus Ministry programs.
Prior to her departure, Ms. Hill played “a pivotal role ... in assessing the possibility of expanding ... to include grades seven and eight” which launched in the fall of 2020.
Ms. Hill holds a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education and English from Manhattan College and a master’s degree in School Leadership from Worcester State University. She is currently pursuing her doctorate in Organizational Change & Leadership at Baylor University and is expected to graduate later this year.
