The annual Partners in Charity Appeal has so far raised $3,320,870, or 66 percent of its $5 million goal, according to Michael P. Gillespie, diocesan director of Stewardship and Development. The Appeal has received gifts or pledges from 11,870 donors. There have been 762 new donors this year, whose pledges or gifts total $103,324. The St. Paul Society, whose members pledge at least $5,000, have made pledges or gifts totaling $575,065 There are 85 members of the society so far this year, including 15 new members. Some 111 diocesan priests have made gifts totaling $173,405. Six seminarians have made gifts so far. Twelve of the 103 parishes in the diocese have surpassed their goals. The majority of parishes are at least 60 percent of their goals, Mr. Gillespie said. He said that several parishes plan to to take up in-pew collections in the next few weeks. The annual Partners in Charity Appeal helps to support charitable, educational and ministerial organizations in the diocese.
