The annual Partners in Charity Appeal will end Aug. 31 and, as of Aug. 19, still needed $207,081 to reach its goal, according to Michael P. Gillespie, diocesan director of Stewardship and Development. So far, the fund drive has received $4,792,919 in gifts and pledges. That is 96 percent of the $5 million goal. Some pastors whose parishes have not yet reached their goals plan to make one last push for gifts or pledges for the Appeal this weekend, Mr. Gillespie said. “Your gift to the Appeal this final weekend will provide assistance for the poor, the sick, the young, the aged, the disabled, families in crisis and many thousands more,” he said. “Our Appeal is an opportunity to provide for the needs of others who look to us for hope. Please reflect on the blessings you have received from God as you contemplate a pledged gift to the Partners in Charity Appeal.” He said pledge envelopes are available in church vestibules.
