Send your child to Catholic school for a year and support Worcester’s Catholic radio station at the same time. How can that be done? Through
Emmanuel Radio’s Angel’s Auction going on now.
St. Mary’s School, Worcester, donated one-year of free tuition to the highest bidder at the auction, according to Cindy Dorsey, general manager of the radio station. The item has a $4,200 value.
“One child will go to school” and Emmanuel Radio will get “angel wings,” Ms. Dorsey said.
The opening bid for the tuition is set at $1,500.
The Angels Auction, hosted by 1230AM and 970AM Emmanuel Radio, is online now and will continue with a live event on Thursday evening. To reach the action and place a bid, visit 1230radio.com and click on the auction banner. If you would rather bid in person, join the community of Catholic radio supporters and enjoy a spaghetti dinner put on by the Knights of Columbus at the Cenacle, St. Paul Cathedral, 38 High St., Worcester on Thursday, Nov. 30, 6-8pm. Tickets are a $25 donation to the radio station.
Besides the Catholic school tuition, you can bid on religious items, holiday gifts, flowers, store and restaurant gift cards and more!
One successful bidder can even take over the principal’s parking space at Holy Name Central Catholic Junior/Senior High School for a month.
There is a gift basket of tickets and accessories from the Worcester Railers hockey team, valued at $500, that is also being offered.
And, if you need your driveway shoveled this winter, bid on a package that will send Holy Cross Crusaders to do the job.
New this year, Ms. Dorsey said, is a silent auction table at Thursday’s live auction event.
