Father Derek A. Mobilio will give a talk on reconciliation titled: “His Mercy Endures Forever- Biblical Insights for the Sacrament of Reconciliation” at this year’s annual Worcester Diocesan Men’s Conference.
The conference committee says that during this talk Father Mobilio will weave the beauty and complexity of the Scriptures into straightforward, familiar commentary.
Father Mobilio is the associate pastor of Our Lady of Hope Parish in Grafton, and serves as a chaplain to the Catholic students of Worcester State University and for the Fellowship of Catholic University Students (FOCUS) missionaries of Team Worcester.
“I have known Fr. Derek for years, and he is an incredible speaker, homilist and a real down-to-earth young man. He is absolutely going to inspire the men,” said Shawn Shields, conference committee member.
Father Mobilio was born and raised in the Diocese of Worcester, attending Our Lady of the Angels Elementary School and graduating from St. Peter Marian Central Catholic Jr./Sr. High School in 2008. He completed his seminary formation at St. John’s Seminary in Brighton and was ordained by Bishop McManus at St. Paul Cathedral in 2022.
The 24th annual Worcester Diocesan Catholic Men’s Conference will be hosted at the DCU Center, 50 Foster St., Worcester on April 5. The registration begins at 7:30 a.m., followed by the Rosary at 8 a.m., music at 8:30 a.m. and welcoming prayer at 8:45 a.m. The first speaker begins at 9:00 a.m.

The conference also offers the opportunity for men to offer their confession, to solemnly reflect in the all-day adoration chapel, and to visit over 50 vendors. The day concludes with a 4 p.m. Mass celebrated by Bishop McManus.
