Bryan Mercier is one of the speakers at the upcoming Worcester Catholic Women’s Conference. The title of his talk is, “Why Jesus had to Die.”
High energy, with vast expertise in a wide range of topics, Mr. Mercier is gifted at speaking to teens, adults, believers, and skeptics alike, says an announcement from the conference organizers.
In high school, Mr. Mercier always wore all black and suffered from depression and anger. While in college, he experienced the love of Jesus which transformed him inside and out. Thus, he understands the questions and doubts people may have about being Catholic as well as how to inspire and build up their faith.
Mr. Mercier earned his master’s degree in theology from Holy Apostles College and Seminary, Cromwell, Connecticut. With this great knowledge, he frequently preaches on subjects like apologetics, atheism, other religions, and our culture in an engaging, motivating way, the conference organizers said.
In order to reach a wider audience, Mr. Mercier founded Catholic Truth, a ministry dedicated to proclaiming the truth of Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church. For more than 20 years, he has offered keynote talks, confirmation and youth retreats, parish missions, seminars, workshops, conferences, and more. He can be heard on Ave Maria Radio, Sirius XM Satellite Radio, EWTN, and Relevant Radio. He is a no-nonsense speaker fully committed to explaining, presenting, and defending the Catholic faith.
Besides being a gifted presenter, Mr. Mercier has authored two books. Counterfeit Spirituality: Exposing the False Gods is designed to help Catholics recognize false teachings and practices in our culture. In turning away from them, anyone can grow closer to God and the truth of his Church.
For those who have doubts about God or have religious questions that have never been answered, Why Do You Believe in God? Catholic Conversations with Skeptics and Non-Believers can be an invaluable resource to inspire believers and respond to objections that critics may have. Both are user-friendly.
The 2022 Worcester Catholic Women’s Conference will take place Oct. 1 at St. Joseph School, 47 Whitcomb St., in Webster. The theme of this year’s conference is, “Embrace the Cross.” Tickets are $45 and student tickets (16-22) are $25. Seating is limited and tickets are on sale now.
Other speakers at the conference include Laura Phelps, Sonja Corbitt and Constance Hull.
In addition to the speakers, many diocesan and religious priests will participate by hearing confessions during the lunch break. The sacrament of reconciliation has become a significant staple at the conference and organizers hope women take advantage of this opportunity during the day. Also on hand will be many exhibitors available to enhance attendees’ faith journeys and help get some early Christmas shopping completed. Bishop McManus will start the day with adoration and will be the principal celebrant and homilist for Mass at 5 p.m.
